  • June 8, 2022: Discussion and site inspection with Mayor's Senior Advisor


  • May 12 and June 9, 2022: Letters to the Editor published in the Grunion Gazette


  • May 6 to May 31, 2022: Roundtable discussions with all six candidates running for District 3 City Council office. Discussed history of and issues with Belmont Shore parklets, OEPs, and OAPs on Second Street and in the area surrounding the Belmont Veterans Memorial Pier.


  • May 24, 2022: Presented fact-based, data-backed information and issues regarding Belmont Shore parklets, OEPs, and OAPs to City Council during public comment of parklet agenda item #22 at City Council meeting. CLICK HERE to WATCH - agenda item #22 begins at the 44:25 mark


  • March 7, 2022: Walkthrough of Second Street and the Pier area with Long Beach Accessibility Coordinator, Heather Van Wijk, who was able to see firsthand how impacted Belmont Shore sidewalks and parking are under the current temporary parklets program

  • March 24, 2022: Spoke about widespread Belmont Shore parklet accessibility issues during Public Comments at Citizen's Advisory Commission on Disabilities monthly meeting

  • March 31, 2022: Participated in a discussion with the Standing Committee of the Citizen's Advisory Commission on Disabilities at their monthly meeting

  • April 14, 2022: Presented slides/documentation detailing the extensive Belmont Shore parklet accessibility issues to Citizen's Advisory Commission on Disabilities at monthly meeting

  • May 12, 2022: Citizen's Advisory Commission on Disabilities voted to approve a letter to be sent to the Long Beach Mayor, City Councilmembers, and City Manager CLICK HERE for LETTER


  • April 28, 2022: Explained how delivery trucks are parking in bus stops (due to limited parking because of parklets) during Public Comments at Long Beach Transit Board of Directors' meeting. President and CEO of LB Transit, Kenneth McDonald, was very disturbed by the trucks parking in the bus stops and advised he would work to have this immediately corrected


  • March 17, 2022 and May 19, 2022: Spoke about Belmont Shore parklet issues during Public Comment at Belmont Shore Parking and Business Improvement Area Advisory Commission meetings


  • November 2021: Walked several Belmont Shore residential streets talking with neighbors and distributing flyers advising of the City's Public Works Parklet Survey


  • September 14, 2021 and December 7, 2021 : Spoke against detrimental effects of temporary and permanent parklets at City Council meetings; asked Council to stop (3rd) extension of Belmont Shore parklets


  • October 21, 2021: Participated and spoke about the negative aspects of temporary and permanent parklets on the 3rd District Community Zoom meeting


  • Months-long, ongoing email threads with Public Works on scope and planned sunset date
